In the few years that I got to know Lucia I can say that she was always an upbeat and happy woman. Her faith in God and her family was unwaivering and I know that she is with the Angels looking down on us all. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived. You will always be in my heart and prayers.

To Lucia's family:

How very saddened we were to hear of Lucia's death. Although we knew it had to happen eventually, we always hoped and prayed for a miracle. During all of the time that we knew her she was already ill. Not one of us ever heard a negative or self pitying word. Quite the opposite. Every time you asked her how she was doing, she always had a cheerful answer to make us feel good. She always looked like a doll - pefectly groomed and stylishly and attractively dressed. She had great faith in her God and great love for her family, especially her wee granddaughter whom she was delighted to be able to get to know. Next to her family, she loved her choir and its members as her second family and was really saddened when they were no longer together to sing. We always passed each other coming and going at Mass on Sundays. Our choir was leaving as their's was coming in and we always kept an eye open for her cheerful face and her sunny greeting and great hugs. It made us feel good to see her there and we all prayed for her when she couldn't make it. Lucia, you were a light in our lives and we know that you are already singing with the angels. Please watch over us.

With love from the members of the English Choir and especially Lorna Oel, the director.

We will really miss Lucia. Scott and I will especially miss her smile and laugh. Lucia was a feisty, courageous and uplifting individual. We will never forget her encouraging words and prayers during my personal cancer battle. Lucia you are finally in a place where there is no more pain, suffering and especially cancer. May you rest in peace .
