Lucile Richardson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 7, 2018.
Lucile Trayer Richardson Age 85, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep March 1st. Lucile, aka, Bunny, was born on Easter Sunday in San Diego California. Her family moved to Eugene, Oregon when she was a child and eventually settled in West Marin, living in the 'White House' at White House Pool, near Inverness Park. She graduated Tomales High School after enjoying cheerleading and becoming a member of The California Scholarship Federation. She met her husband, a sailor, Lee C. Richardson Jr. of Olema, and they got married on Easter Sunday 1951. They settled in Inverness to raise their three children. Lucile was known for her meticulous accounting and bookkeeping skills as well as her attention to grammar and detail. She often had neighborhood kids staying in her home when they were having difficulties in their own homes, some stayed for weeks at a time, all were welcome. She was involved in PTA and the 4H club. When younger, she enjoyed playing tennis, but continued to take pleasure in baking, playing nickel slot machines, bingo, tending to her orchids, and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2017 she attended her oldest grandchild's high school graduation from Tomales High, it was the 4th generation of her family graduating from THS. After 24 years, she divorced and moved to Novato, then San Rafael. She attended College of Marin and started Excel Property Management Company where she worked until retiring at age 72. In 2005 she was honored as Volunteer of the Year for Echo, Executive Council of Homeowners. She was the founder and first chairperson of the North Bay Resource Panel, the first of Echo's Regional Resource Panels. She was a member of California Association of Community Managers. She is survived by her sons, Lee "Skip" Richardson (Laura deceased) Rhonda, of Inverness and Vacaville, Les Richardson (Linda) of Cotati, and her daughter Linda Simon (Jim) of Nicasio. She will be very missed by her seven grandchildren Mike, (Teresa), Sabrina (Nando), Jonathan (Krista), James, (Alexia), Cory, Stefanie, and Andrew (Nikita). Affectionately called "Emmy", she was always thrilled to spend time with her great-grandchildren; Alyssia, Felipe, Shaun, Taylor, Deanna, Dylan, Calvin and Sophia. She was anxiously looking forward to another great grandson who is overdue. Preceded in death by her two brothers, Harry and Frank Trayer and a sister Jennie Roark, she is survived by her beloved baby sister Twila Brammeier of Lakeport California. She relished her more than 20 nieces and nephews, even remembering all of their birthdays by heart, and she loved announcing when each of them had children and grandchildren. Lucile will also be missed by her very dear friends, Dr. Byron Mauzy, Kay Montgomery, and Hildegard - the best neighbor ever. She was born on Easter, married on Easter, and we invite friends and family to say goodbye to her on Easter, April 1st, 2018, at 1:00pm, at the home of her daughter Linda Simon, 2149 Nicasio Valley Road, Nicasio, California. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic for Integrative Cancer Care, 601 16th Street, Suite 426, Oakland, California 94612, or to the Marin County Humane Society. Her family would like to thank Mount Tamalpais Mortuary for their excellent response and support during this sad time.

I have such fond memories of Lucile when I was the president or on the board of the Redwoods Townehomes HOA in Novato between late 1985 and 2006 and Excel Management was the property manager. She was a friend as well as a business associate. Her expertise, enthusiasm, hard work, and sense of fun were an inspiration. I'll miss her!

My Aunt Bunny was such a humorous, intelligent and loving inspiration to everyone who had the personal enjoyment of knowing her. I love her and she will be so missed by my family.

Love you Emmy ❤
