Lucille Vasconcellos Obituary
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Adelard and Alice (Dumontet) Bourassa she grew up in New Bedford and lived for twenty plus years in Ft. Meyers, FL.
Mrs. Vasconcellos was a stitcher for several local factories and she was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary.
She is survived by four children, Barbara Medeiros and her husband Arnold of New Bedford, Garry Vasconcellos of Fairhaven, Cindy Lou Andrade and Bruce Vasconcellos of New Bedford; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Arnold D. Medeiros and the sister of the late George Bourassa and Florence Gregson.
Her memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or woundedwarriorproject.org. For online tribute www.rock-funeralhome.com

Very sad to hear about the passing of Cousin Lucille....She and Arnold were always so pleasant to wait on when they came to visit at Bourassa Hardware We were second cousins...Her grandfather "Ilase" or "Elias" and my grandfather "Donat" were brothers...So often our conversation would turn to family, both past and present..My deepest condolences..

We were like sisters and I will miss her greatly. She was one of the most kind and generous persons we will ever know. She would give you the shirt off her back, if you asked her to and even if you didn't ask. May the good Lord shelter her in the palm of His hand. I will miss our telephone visits the most.
