Lucinda Mae “Cindy” Winters, age 49, of Joplin, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Cindy was born on Dec. 14, 1958, in Joplin, the daughter of Ray and Lessialee Deaver. She has been a lifetime area resident. She attended the Northview Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She married Mike Winters on Sept. 13, 1994, in Miami, Okla. He survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Justin Williams and wife, Connie, Centerton, Ark., and Jason Williams, Joplin; her parents, Ray and Lessilee Deaver; one brother, Ray Deaver Jr., Joplin; two sisters, Carol Watkins, Joplin, and Deborah Willis, Joplin; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Ricky Deaver. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel. Rev. Bill Hobson will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Chapel.
