Lucius Beddinger DuBose

Lucius was a wonderful, insightful person and meant so much to our family as I was coming of age. I always looked up to him as an advocate for love and justice. I treasure the pieces of his art that I inherited from my parents. Love, Donna Tanner

I just hung the print of Semipalmated Plovers that I inherited from my parents, in our entryway, and thought to look up the artist. I found this memorial of his recent passing. Please know that this lovely print (11/300) graced our parents' home for many years, and continues to be seen and appreciated (in different rooms), in our home in Anacortes, WA. As, no doubt, many more works by him are appreciated all over the country. With condolences and gratitude for his art.

Mr. DuBose´s etchings we´re a great inspiration for me to pursue printmaking, which led me to also become a member of The Southern Highland Craft Guild. Great admiration for his work. I am fortunate to own one of his bird prints. He was an extraordinary craftsman. I never had the honor of meeting him, but I´m thankful for his inspiration. My sympathies to his family. It was always a treat to stop by to see Lucius work at art shows and catch up with the DeBose´s. We had been fellow printmakers for a long time and he was always willing to share techniques. I´m sure other fellow artist and art lovers will miss him and his subtle humor.

Visiting with Lenda and Lucius was always a pleasure! Lucius could be depended on to make an outstanding cup of coffee with cream, tell story after story, and be engaged with the Titans football - all at the same time! May sweet memories and appreciations always be with his family and friends!
