Mrs. Lucy Trevathan Breedlove

Lucy Trevathan Breedlove, 88, of Rocky Mount, was welcomed home to be with her Lord and Savior at 7 am, Thursday, October 6, 2011, after suffering a heart attack and a long- term battle with Alzheimer's disease. Lucy Breedlove, daughter of R.D and Sue Winifred Trevathan was a hardworking wife and mother, who was generous throughout her life and had a genuine love for her family, friends and her church home. One of 19 children Mrs. Breedlove not only spent many years working on her family farm, but also caring for her younger siblings before finally marrying and having a family of her own. The last surviving sibling of the Trevathan family, Mrs. Breedlove is also preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 28 years John Edward Breedlove. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Breedlove Goswick of Greenville and husband Wayne; her granddaughters, Hannah, Whitney, and Cassie Goswick of Greenville; her sister- in-law, Annie Laura Trevathan of Tarboro; and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Mrs. Breedlove's life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday October 8, 2011 at West Edgecombe Baptist Church, 13821 NC 43 North, Rocky Mount. Immediately following will be a committal service at Pineview Cemetery. Prior to the funeral, a visitation with family will be held at the church at 12:30 pm. Officiating the services will be Dr. Harry Kahn and Rev. Terry Brooks. Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson Funerals & Cremations, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
