Lucy Hladecek

My first memory of Lucy was in 1987 in CA before joining the family as her sister in law. Both she and Jim were so friendly and welcoming and loving. I remember thinking that having a sister in law was really going to be cool! Over the last 36 years Lucy certainly went above and beyond to make me feel so special, but I am certain everyone who knew her felt that way too. I loved that she loved bunnies and so she always graciously accepted all the "rabbit" items that I gave her over the years as gifts. I marveled at the fact that here was a highly educated, talented woman, and yet one of her very favorite relaxing things to do was actually... ironing! We laughed about that for sure. I will miss all our conversations; serious, fun, silly...talking about recipes and life's challenges. The world is a bit sadder and less bright with this loss, but also a much better place for having had Lucy here among us. We know that you are reunited with your Jamie and so very happy to be so. Aunt Lucy will forever be in my heart ! I have so many fond memories from my childhood. Spending time with Aunt Lucy, Uncle Jim, Joel, and Kristen mostly in Sonora at Grandma's cabin. Aunt Lucy was always cheerful and bright. I will miss her dearly.
