Lue Herring Obituary
Lue Helen was born on March 31, 1932, in Hopkinsville, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Hudie E. Dillard and Mother Jennie Lou Dillard Childs; her siblings, Louis Dillard, Mae Thelma Thacker, O'Delcia Davis and Rosetta Bradshaw.
Lue Helen was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church for 43 years under Rev. Dr. W.R. Brown, Sr. There she was faithful in the Ruth Circle and Bible Study. She later joined Memorial Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Sunday School.
Lue Helen was a beautiful woman who loved her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and loved to prepare family dinners. She was a woman of great wisdom and will be greatly missed until we are all reunited in heaven.
Lue Helen is survived by her husband of 54 years, John D. Herring, Sr.; her sons, John D. (Patricia) Herring, Jr. and R. Steven (Yvonne) Herring, both of Evansville, IN; Reverend Clifford (Venita) Herring of Newburgh, IN; Micheal D. (Raynell) Herring of Noblesville, IN; one daughter, Reverend Julia D. (Gary) Scott of Carmel, IN; and one granddaughter she raised, Shayla J. (Jerry) Graves of Indianapolis, IN. She also leaves granddaughter Tanika Hodge of Evansville, IN; grandsons, Benjamin Herring, Titus Herring and Daniel Herring, all of Newburgh, IN, and one great-grandson, Kyrique Presley; her sisters-in-law, Mattie (Edward) Brown of Temple Hills, MD, Betty (Phillip) Brooks, Lucy (Robert) Rogers and Florence Lindsey, all of Hopkinsville, KY.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Memorial Baptist Church, 605 Canal Street. The wake service will begin at 6 p.m. with a memorial service to follow from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Adrian M. Brooks, Sr., officiating. Burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Osborne Funeral Home has been entrusted with final care.
