I am still looking for an F.B. (Forever Barber). Mr Caruso's shears magic was, in every sense, sheer magic. In addition to being skilled at his trade, he was a thoroughly decent man. Mr. Caruso will be well regarded and fondly recalled by any and all who had the pleasure of having made his acquaintance. One of the rare and really good ones has gone on to know what lies ahead. Rest in peace.

Rest In Peace Lou, I will miss our monthly talks in the barbers chair about soccer and the grandkids. A true gentleman.

On of my fondest memories of Mr. Caruso is of him at work in his shop one Saturday morning not so many years ago. It was a day or two before Christmas. A young mother (a bit of a rarity) had brought her young son to have a holiday haircut. The wee lad was maybe two. The mother spoke Italian and broken English. Mr Caruso spoke only Italian to the woman and her young son. He really put them both at ease. To witness this fleeting moment was most touching. I felt that Saturday morning as though I'd crossed the threshold of Mr. Caruso's shop and somehow slipped into another (gentler, more civil, and chivalrous) place and time.

My brothers and I were customers of Mr. Caruso, off and on, for 30 years. He was a quiet kind soul with a warm and friendly smile. It was always a treat to be in the shop knowing you would look better when leaving while having pleasant conversations about family, friends and sports. One found memory was when we witnessed, one early morning, the declaration of Luigi Caruso Day by Mr. Corey O'Connor on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh. Please accept our deepest sympathies, our prayers and our condolences to the entire Caruso Family, he will truly be missed.
God bless,
Regis McKenzie
