Luigi MANGANO Obituary

Published by Ottawa Citizen on Feb. 29, 2012.
MANGANO, Luigi
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Papa, peacefully, in his sleep after a short, but determined struggle with a brief illness in his 99th year on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Predeceased by his wife and companion of 63 years Adele and his sister Palmira, father to Adriana (Richard Le Lay), Franco (Cathy Nelligan) and Annamaria (Steven Fabijanski), Nonno to Lissa and Anna. From a large family in Italy, he is survived by his sister Angelina. His extended family in Italy will miss his enthusiasm and his pride for living life. His family in Canada will dearly miss his never ending joy for daily life and his spirit for living everyday embraced with gusto, a song and a purpose. He lived life to the fullest and spread his happiness to his family, friends and his loving companion, Tinetto. Those who knew him will miss that happiness and people who loved him will always have that spirit to remember him. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at the Montfort Hospital for their caring support during his illness. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, Saturday March 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. There will be a brief reception with refreshments afterwards. Entombment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
