My father's family, The Chiaramonte Family, owned the building at 476 Chapel Street which housed Lucibello's Pastry Shop and Chapel Shoe 'Repair. My Mom and Dad lived in that family building until 1941 which building was takenin the 50's by Redevelopment for I91. Every family knew each other in the Wooster Street Area and I know they knew your Mom, Luisa. We have now lost the last member of that family -- which we now name, THE GREATEST FAMILY!!!

Dear Rosa, My deepest condolences on the loss of your amazing mother, Luisa was a force of nature, and she did a magnificent job representing New Haven, and Wooster Square, She had focus, compassion,and a warm heart while she worked to offer the community the best of herself. I lived in New Haven for 40 years, I admired your mother, and I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing.

Luisa was a mentor to many, well respected and a strong presence in the Wooster Square area, she will be missed by many.

Rosa, please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Luisa. She was a great leader and a real champion for the community. I remember fondly the many times Luisa would come to my office when I worked for Bruce Morrison many years ago to advocate for federal help for her poor and elderly constituents in the Wooster Square area. She was greatly respected and beloved by all of us in Bruce's office. And I also remember how much she made me laugh with her stories and humor. She was truly a community treasure in New Haven. When I was young I remember my father ,Dr Frank Anastasio, speaking highly of Luisa. They were good friends back in the days.

Very sorry to learn of Luisa's passing. I can remember many dinners where we sat together and had wonderful conversation. Condolences to the family.

i have several fond memories of Luisa: a delicious bowl of pasta; some wise advice ( and some advice with a wise crack!), and her determination. When she was nearly 70, she was in New Britain canvassing door to door for hours to help Toby Moffett. I admired her and loved her spirit: I am happy to have crossed paths with her- my condolences to Rosa, Stan and all of Luisa's family. Hope to see you Saturday.

Luisa, Bev C. and Harvey worked so hard to make sure that Wooster Square would always be the most vibrant, most diverse and most beautiful neighborhood in New Haven. Luisa had no equal. I miss her but will treasure all the memories.

Rosa, clearly you came from great stock and were raised right! Through your mother ( and father) a little bit more of the kingdom of God broke through into our world.
