SOUTH YARMOUTH — Luke Fannon died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, following a long illness with diabetes.

Luke was born in Natick, son of the late Mary and John F. Fannon. Luke was raised in Natick and married to his beloved wife, Sally (Bache) Fannon, with whom he recently celebrated their 51st anniversary. Luke and Sally raised six children in Hudson.

Luke was employed with the Raytheon Corp. for 36 years, then retired to South Yarmouth. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed sports, and was a member of the Bass River Golf Course for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Sally; sister, Janet Doyle; his aunt, Vivian Powers; and children, Maryanne Lively and her husband Paul, Luke and his wife Vicky, John and his wife Bea, Mark and his wife Diane, Matthew, and Patrick and his wife Janie. Luke was the grandfather of nine cherished grandchildren, Kelley, Christen, Sarah, Will, Taylor, Erin, Kayley, Dana and Kori. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Morris & O'Connor Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth. Interment will follow in Chandler Gray Cemetery,

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center; Development Office, Suite 745, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215.

We are just so sorry for your loss and all that Luke had to go thru. He was really a such a great guy. He always had such an upbeat positive attitude. Luke was a true inspiration.
