Lydia W. Brant Lydia McCoy Walters Brant, 82, of Wytheville died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at her residence. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Alderman officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen United Methodist Church Cemetery. She was born Nov. 28, 1928, daughter of the late Neal and Ethel McAllister Walters. She was a member of Evergreen United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Jack" Brant. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Leasa Dawn Andrews of Winston-Salem, N.C., Kathy Helen and Donald Tuck of Navarre, Fla., and Regina Carol Brant of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David William Brant of Mouth of Wilson, and Jerry Neal and Patricia Brant of Wytheville; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Rita Walters of Max Meadows; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Evergreen Cemetery Fund, 1390 W. Monroe St., Wytheville, VA 24382; or Hometown Hospice LLC, 611 Campus Drive, Suite 700, Abingdon, VA 24210. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.highlandfuneralservice.com. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
