Lydia Lewis was known to me as Lydia Montez at the time we were stationed at Camp Gordon, Georgia (now Ft Gordon) when we both served together in 1951 as Women Army Corps. I have been searching for my dear friend for a long time and I'm saddend to know I didn't get a chance to talk to her all these years to let her know how much she meant to me. The last time I heard from my dear friend was when her and Jack were stationed in Japan. She wrote about her children Jacqueline, Elizabeth, and Michael. It's been so many years. I live in Oklahoma and would welcome a message from anyone in her family. My home address is 317 W Maple Street Skiatook, OK 74070 if anyone is interested in writing to me. I would surely appreciate it. With loving memory of my Army buddy on Memorial Day 2012....Esther Guerrero (80 yrs).

Lydia Lewis and her husband Jack were like a mother and father to many soldiers at the 619th Ord in Germany. I have never forgotten her kindness to several us when we were invited to dinner to feast on Lydia's tacos. Jack, our 1st Sgt was the most kind person always looking out for his soldiers. Several years ago some of us were able to reconnect with both Jack and Lydia at a reunion in Albuquerque. A gathering I shall not forget and cherish.
To Jack and the children, you have more joyous times to celebrate from the past. Hang on to those and remember that a few of your 619th "kids" are always thinking of you.
