I did not get to meet Maeve until she was into her early 80's. I felt an immediate connection with her as we shared a loved of nature: especially birds. On that first visit, we discussed the environment, fracking and politics certainly not what I was expecting!! Over the years, I was always so impressed with the depth of her knowledge on so many issues. Towards the end of her life, I knew she wasn't feeling well and knew I wanted to go see her again. I assumed she must have surely lost the passion for her causes at this point. When I saw her, she was a little weaker and her voice was a little softer. But she immediately starting asking me my opinion on recent EPA changes!! I smiled the passion still burned. Maeve could teach us all what it really means to be committed to causes we believe in. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Maeve, what can I say? You walked the walk and I am glad to have joined you for part of that. Let's keep going. Big hugs from MR. Pumpkin Head. Love you. Peace, Tom

Maeve -- we have missed you so much at the Newton Farmers Market this year! It just isn't the same with out you but we're pretty sure you've had something to do with the nice weather all season. We are so glad that Christopher comes every week and will look forward to your Celebration on November 5.
