Lynda Mayer Jeansonne

Lynda Mayer Jeansonne passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 in Covington, LA. She was born on December 31, 1941 in New Orleans, LA to the late Valentine Mayer and Olga Indest Mayer. Lynda was the beloved wife of Richard Michael Jeansonne for 47 years. She was the loving mother of Rick Jeansonne (Maureen), Andre Jeansonne (Kelli), Bryan Jeansonne (Gina), Ben Jeansonne, and Chris Jeansonne (Rhiannon). Lynda was the proud grandmother of Michael, Avery, and Luke Jeansonne, Logan, Brody, and Brielle Jeansonne, and Liam Jeansonne. She was the sister of the late Val Mayer, Jr., Robert "Buddy" Mayer, and Barbara Decker. Lynda was a devoted mother and educator. She was a nurse at St. Tammany Parish Hospital for 30 years and taught many young parents to prepare for childbirth and breastfeeding. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W. Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 12:00 Noon with visitation from 11:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, St. Benedict, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Abbey, www.saintjosephabbey.com.
