Lynda Liem Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 28, 2021.
Donnell Liem, age 66, passed away on December 23, 2021 from complications related to pancreatic cancer. She was born in Northern California and eventually moved to Arizona to attend Grand Canyon University in the late 1970's. She met her husband Mark at church and they married in 1985.

Donnell's faith in God and her connection to family were the most meaningful parts of her life, and finding ways to spread generosity and love were her passion. A great outlet for this gift of hers was as a teacher where she worked mostly in special education classrooms. Every student that walked through her room truly thought that they were her favorite and each child was. She had a unique gift to see the individual student and pull out the gifting of each student. Donnell continued to teach part-time this past August through early December in the Avondale Elementary School District.

Donnell was a worshiper, singer, crafter, party planner, lover of Christmas, Disney, and all things sweet and colorful. But her most valued attribute was the role she played in bringing the family together. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mark Liem, mother Barbara, siblings Lori and Larry, and three children, Allison (Tyson), Andrew (Jessica) and Taylor. She has two grandchildren ages 2 and 4. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Suzanne Liem, who played a very important role in her life.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday February 12, 2022 at North Phoenix Baptist Church CHAPEL building, 5757 N Central Ave Phoenix, AZ at 3:00 pm in the Upper Chapel, with a reception to follow in the Lower Chapel.

Donations may be made to an organization she had a passion for, Best Buddies at bestbuddies.org/arizona.
