Lyndon F. "Lenny" Turner Obituary

Lyndon F. Turner, age 61, sadly passed away on January 7, 2025. He was born June 22, 1963 in Gary, Indiana to Lawrence and Daisy L. Turner. Lenny was a graduate of West Side High School. He was employed at Jiffy Lube as an oil technician for five years and at North Lake Nursing and Rehab Care facility in Merrillville, Indiana. He also worked at Thea Bowman High School as a custodian. Lenny was skilled in landscaping and lawn care. He often helped the neighborhood church, neighbors or anyone he knew who needed assistance.Lenny would assist his mother, Daisy during election time passing out literature, helping to set up the polling place, and working the polls on election day. He was a member of the Clinton Street Block Club and a member of the Lay-Low Ryderz Motorcycle Club as Sargent-at-arms.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Daisy L. Turner, and sisters Lana E. Turner and Denise L. McIntosh.

He leaves to cherish his memory 2 brothers, Lawrence and Lionell Turner, 1 sister, Diane L. Robinson, nephews, Kevin (Maria) Robinson, Lee (Ketsana) Robinson, Jymel (Shannon) Turner, Jymaine Turner, and Levi McIntosh, nieces, Kimberly Holifield, Lynzy (Paul) Porter, Brittany Turner, Frances Madry, Francine Madry, LaShonda Mukes, Demetria Jordan, special friend LaVonya Thornton and a host of other family and friends.

All Services Friday January 17,2025. Wake 9:00a.m. Funeral 11:00a.m. at Powell Coleman Funeral Home 3200 W. 15th Ave Gary,In 46404.

Lenny was always involved in community activities, he continued the legacy of his parents involvement in neighborhood preservation and the influence and guidance of its youth the brother will truly be missed
