Lyndon (Pete) Axel Petersen

Palm Desert - Pete was born to Axel and Dora Petersen on August 24, 1931 in Bakersfield, CA.

After graduating from Bakersfield High School in 1949 he traveled to Australia for a year. He then joined the Air Force at 20 years old, serving as a tail-gunner, honorably discharging in 1954. He then attended several state colleges, graduating from Bakersfield College in 1958. He went on to UCLA for Business.

Pete met Cathy while bowling in Bakersfield and married in 1960 having 4 children.

Pete owned a string of sporting good stores, in Bakersfield and beyond. In 1978, Pete moved to Victorville, Ca and changed careers to open a Fastrip Convenience Store/Gas Station in Hesperia, CA and shortly thereafter opened another in Calamesa, CA. After selling Fastrip Pete moved to Palm Desert which remained his permanent home. He also enjoyed his little beach house in San Felipe, BCN.

Pete loved to travel, his dog(s) "Boomer", his family and friends and also, his favorite little spot in San Felipe. He was an honest, fun loving, generous, 'life of the party' guy, who lived life to the fullest!

He is survived by his daughter Terri and husband Terry, son Mike and wife Kris,

daughter Debbie and son James. 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-greatgrandchild. He is also survived by his partner, Shirley Binninger. He was preceded in death by his loving sister, Mary Alice.

He is dearly missed.
