So sorry to see this. I was trying to get in touch with Barry since I am visiting Pgh. for the first time in 20 years. The phone no. was disconnected & I sent an email. I was looking further & saw this. Very sad to see. You were always so good for Barry..

Rev. Lynn is truly one of God's angels who was masquerading as a human being on earth. You will be missed. Patrick Journet

I met Father Lynn, as he was known, in the late 80's, at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Hazelwood. A tireless worker and advocate for those living with HIV/AIDS, he opened the church doors to those who stigmatized with the disease and to their friends/partners. He was steadfast in supporting those souls needing a sensitive ear and a nourishing meal. Kind and gentle, with a glint in the corner of his eye, he was an inspiration to so many... a pioneer...and a true shepherd---one of a kind. He will be missed.

Fr. Lynn officiated my Wedding. He was a caring, beautiful soul of a man. He was compassionate and loving and the Community will surly be at a loss. I hope that his legacy will live on. God Bless you Fr. Lynn and Thank you....

I remember encountering Fr. Lynn one time when I was at ShadySide Hospital visiting a friend. It was late, and he'd been bedside, ministering. He looked so tired but still mustered a gentle and kind greeting. I remember thinking to myself, "That is what a living saint looks like. Without fanfare, humble, quietly and devotedly serving his flock." I don't think I'm overstating his impact. He is greeted in heaven by the legion of angels he comforted here. As for his longtime support and companion, Barry, I can't imagine the loss you're experiencing and you remain ever present in my thoughts and prayers. I mourn Lynn's passing. I love you, Dearheart.

Fr. Lynn was always kind, compassionate and nurturing to my children and me. We were blessed to have him come into our lives at just the right times. He counseled me during a time of loss and allowed my children to question and seek without fear of judgement. His loving and accepting nature was an example to all. Although he is gone, he's left a lasting memory for all of us. Barry you have our deepest sympathies.

I will remember his kindness and concern he had for others and how his sermona were simple and to the point. He served those he ministered with the love and compassion that was in his heart for everyone who came in contact with him.
