Our sympathy for your loss. We knew Dean as a young man, and always had fond memories of him. Alfred's youngest brother Richard named his imaginary playmate Dean Barnes, and even had his mother set a place at their table for him when he was about 3. Richard would get very upset if someone sat on the chair where his Dean Barnes was supposed to be.
I babysat Charmaine when she was just a few months old and Dean & Janet lived in a little house at Mesa.

Wow, I have so many memories of Dean, I don't know where to start and when I think about how many years ago it was I start realizing how truly old I am. I recall Dean and my dad testing their new 2 man motorized deer cart. It had handlebars on both sides a wheel in the middle and a chain driven motor to pull the hills. Was fun watching them test it in dads back yard. Sorry to say that their great idea was replaced by a 4 wheeler :( In earlier years I remember going to Dean and Janet's and playing with Charmaine and Greg while they played cards with mom and dad. As I was always thinking of my stomache, I remember they always had space food sticks and ovaltine, something we never had. After Memorial Day Greg and I would walk to the local landfill and collect flags and flowers that were removed from the graves.....ah good times.
In later years several of our families were transfered from price to grand Junction and most took up residency in the same subdivision. We all kept in touch and in later years I was able to spend some time with Dean trying to help with some irrigation issues.
Dean always had a smile on his face and was a very kind man. He will be missed by all his family and friends. He is back home now and with his parents, his brother and his son Greg. Dean, if you happen to run into my Dad and Mom sit down, have a little beer and let mom fix you something to eat. Dean, You will be missed by so many!
