Mabel Virginia Thomas Edwards Mabel Virginia Thomas Edwards, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn. Mabel was born Sept. 22, 1930, to the late Clarence W. and Jenny Thomas of Abingdon, Va. She was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents and several brothers and sisters, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Richard Edwards Sr.; and granddaughters, Nikki Brown and Leigh Ann Neal. She is survived by her children, Nancy and husband Dale Rupe, Pat and husband Bob Neal, Dicky and wife Debra Edwards, Becky and husband Pat Penley Jr., Debbie and husband Jerry Brown, and Libby and husband Jeff Baker; grandchildren, Robby Neal, Shannon Boyer, Greg and wife Kelly Rupe, Phil Pryor, Jason Pryor, Jimmy Steward, Carissa Steward, Ashli and husband John Chapman and Adam Strouth; great-grandchildren, Jake Neal, Chase Brewster, Sidney Neal, Kayla Rupe, Tyler Steward and Troy Rupe; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Tri-Cities Funeral Home in Blountville. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens officiated by the Rev. Tom Reed. Pallbearers will include grandsons, Robby Neal, Chase Brewster, Adam Strouth, Jimmy Steward, John Chapman and Jake Neal. The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation for the excellent care given to their mother by Dr. Phillip Claybrook, all the staff at Wellmont Hospice House, K Mart Pharmacy Staff and to caregivers, Jane Trent and Karen Ware.
