That passion that so many have spoken about drove Mac every day when we were at South Kent. He had zero tolerance for bogus behavior or pointless rules. Very much a rebel with a cause.

My sympathy and condolence to his family.

I was also with Mac for the four years at South Kent school. We had a lot of wild times. Mac was a great friend and someone who i shared a lot of mischievous times with. Rest in peace my old friend !

I was one of the ones who spent four years at South Kent with Mac. We caught up on the phone several years ago and had stayed in contact.
I remember a great guy who did most things he took on with a passion. Once he challenged me to wrestle. I was close to twice his size but not a wrestler but I figured since I could pick him up and throw him across the room then I could do ok. He pinned me in seconds.
He came home to my house in Maryland one Thanksgiving when something prevented him going to Iowa. We had a great time and all my friends remembered him for years after.
Sorry you are gone old friend. May you rest in peace.

I went to high school with Mac at a small boarding school in CT. We met when we showed up with 22 other 13 yr olds to begin 9th grade. While people came and went from our class over the years, the ones who made it to the end shared a special bond. It was great to see and catch up with him two years ago at our 40th reunion and it was a privilege to meet his son. Mac was a cherished member of our class and his loss will be deeply felt by all of us for many years. The many memories we have of him will be a blessing to us all and may he rest in peace.

Like many others I am stunned, shocked and beyond saddened to hear this. Mac was always a great guy growing up and while he was my older brother's age and I was always part of the "younger brothers" group he was always great to be around. We all did crazy stuff and tried too many times to see who could pull of some insane bike or motorcycle jump down in the woods near our homes and everybody still has the scars to show for it. Mac was a very kind soul with a great sense of humor and an amazing chef! I truly regret ever getting the chance to try one of his meals but the videos and images he would post just shows you the levels skill that he had and his dedication to the craft of being a chef.
I hope you are at peace now Mac and you might not know it but for those of us lucky enough to have known you and especially grown up with you and all the craziness that came with that, are thankful beyond words.
Rest In Peace buddy.
