When I think of Uncle Mack, I think of fishing, his smile, and the was he pronounced my name with two syllables (Nik-ki)
Uncle Mack was an excellent, pretty stoic guy - soft spoken and kind. He took me fishing a few times at nearby creeks both with bait and fly. He also would head out to salt water fish. If you were an outdoors kind of person, he was a great guy to be with.
Also, he would drive all over the place and as a person who also drives a great deal, Uncle Mack and I would complain or prasie the same highways and backroads. I had a crush on his old blue Toyota truck that he drove all the time. I really liked that after his retirement, he was able to keep driving around and enjoy the Amish cooking :) I also liked that he put a lift in his back garage to work on vehicles.
He was quick to smile and I liked it when he stepped outside to smoke because it gave me a break from being inside while also being supervised.
One time before he moved to Hunting Creek Church Road, I was at his place for a family get together and I remember looking for him, running up to everyone to see if it was him, because he was cooking and working on the homemade peach ice cream.
Then, I was glad he hid my Mom's keys so she couldn't leave early from Uncle Ron and Carol's wedding.
Owyn really enjoyed seeing him too :)

Mack was a good friend and co-worker. I worked with him for over 30 years and I never heard him complain about anything. We worked until the job was done. I will miss him.
