Macon Clinton Joseph Davis

Macon Clinton Joseph Davis, 77, of Emmett died Friday evening, December 28, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. He was born on August 1, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Macon and Marietta Davis. He graduated from Huron High School in New Boston, Michigan. Macon served his country honorably by joining the United States Air Force in 1960 and served for 4 years. During his service Macon completed basic schooling in Lackland, Texas. He was then stationed at Amarillo, Texas training as an aircraft mechanic. Afterwards he was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He married Jannifer Campbell on June 23, 1962 in Flat Rock, Michigan and they lived in Las Vegas until his discharge from the Air Force in 1964. After his service in the Air Force, he joined the Air National Guard for 30 years until his retirement. He was a good friend to many and a loving husband and father. Macon is survived by his wife, Jannifer; his son, Macon C.J. Davis Jr.; two daughters, Michelle Davis and Bernadine Phillips; five grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Ashley, Christopher and Dustin; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Michael, Mark, Matthew and Malcolm; and three sisters, Collette, Marsha and Melinda. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrna and Melanie, A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in the American Legion Post 566, 34330 Bordman Road, Memphis, Michigan 48041.
