FARMINGTON - Madeline F. Agnoletti, 90, of Farmington passed away at 3 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, surrounded by her family at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
Born Feb. 6, 1919, in Chicago to Ferdinand and Lucia (Giacoletto) Capello, she married Leno "Twitter" Agnoletti on Feb. 19, 1949, in Farmington. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2007.
Surviving are son, John (Lynne) of Denver; daughter, Janet (Peer Lykke) of Barrington Hills; four grandchildren, Peter and Charla Agnoletti, and Lucia and Lauren Lykke; and seven stepgrandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren. She also leaves two sisters, Helen Kimbrell of Farmington and Edna Wolford of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Joseph Capello; and sister, Mary Effland.
Madeline worked as a saleswoman for Turls and Melgreen's Furniture Stores for many years, and for Farmington's Water Department.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, and Farmington Women of the Moose 470.
She was pleased to have served on the town's Park Board in the 1960s that established the bike path to the Township Park.
Adored by her family, Madeline was also known as a good neighbor and faithful friend to many, and she delighted in both her ladies lunch groups. An attentive and energetic "Nonie," Madeline jumped rope with her grandchildren until well into her 70s. Madeline loved reading and challenging crosswords to her last day.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, with visitation one hour prior to services. Father John Verrier will officiate. Burial of the ashes will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to her church or the Farmington Rescue Squad in care of the Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home.
