Madeline Grant Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 8, 2024.
Madeline Grant, of Norwich, CT quietly passed away on October 3rd, 2024 . She was born Madeline O'Neill Huntley in Harmony, Maine, on February 23, 1921.

She was married to Russell Grant, Sr, who predeceased her. She is survived by her three children, Russell Grant, Jr., Donna Eldridge, and Mary Gibbs, and 11 grandchildren, (one previously deceased) as well as a plethora of great Grandchildren and several Great, Great, Grandchildren!

She lived most of her adult life in Norwich, CT, where she not only raised her children, but served others from the depths of her magnanimous Christian heart. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and exhibited her faithfulness to him in loving and serving others. If there was a material need, she was there to give. If there was a physical need, she was there to give of her time and energy. If someone needed to just talk, she was there to listen. If someone needed counsel, she was there to share from Scripture the promises of her God.

She was blessed with a long life of 103 years. She experienced the fulfillment of God's promise, as it is written in Psalm 91:14-16; "Because she loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue her, I will protect her, for she acknowledges my name. She will call on me, and I will answer her; I will be with her in trouble, I will deliver her and honor her. AND with long life I will satisfy her and show her my salvation." All this promise from Scripture was fulfilled in the most simple and loving life that she lived for 103 years!

We grieve her loss in our lives but rejoice knowing that she is in the presence of her Lord, experiencing great joy in hearing from HIM, the words, "Well done good and Faithful Servant, enter into the joy of your Lord!"
