Madeline R. Merrill

KILLINGTON - Madeline Ruth (Cady) Merrill, 85, of Killington, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 23, 1930, the daughter of Lynn and Cassie (Whitman) Cady.
Mrs. Merrill attended Sherburne and Rutland schools.
She married Milton Merrill on June 22, 1947, and they lived their married life of 56 years on River Road in Killington.
Mrs. Merrill loved her family, music and crafts.
She served as the bookkeeper for Merrill's Garage for three generations.
Mrs. Merrill was a member of the Sherburne United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary unit #31, USS MISSOURI Assoc., and the Sherburne Valley Grange.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori M. Leonard of Shrewsbury; two sons, Kenneth L. Merrill of Killington and Barry M. Merrill of Mendon; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, two sisters, two brothers, and most recently her daughter, Janice Taylor.
There will be no public calling hours.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, in the Riverside Cemetery in Killington.
