Madeline H. Rowe ABINGDON, Va. Madeline H. Rowe, 81, passed away at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010, at Abingdon Manor after a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 23, 1929, to her parents the late John V. and Mary L. Hay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Othnie Rowe; two sisters, Trula Turner and Phyllis Norris; one niece, Peggy Norris; three brothers-in-law, George Turner, Arnold Reynolds and Parke Wright. She is survived by three sisters, Elsie Wright, Lexington, Ky., Ella Reynolds, Bristol Virginia, Willa Hootman, Kendallville, Ind.; one brother, R.C. Hay (Jolene), Abingdon, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Bud Norris, Abingdon, VA and Bob Hootman, Kendallville. She is also survived by four nieces, Rosemary Colley (Lynn) Lexington, Robin Ratcliff (John) Bristol Virginia, Mary Norris, Abingdon, Megan Hay, Roanoke, Va.; three nephews, Gary Reynolds (Debbie), Bristol Virginia, Donny Hootman, Tucson, Ariz., Johnny Hootman (Tammy) , Albion, Ind. The family would like to express their gratitude to Abingdon Manor and staff for the kindnesses and outstanding service rendered to their loved one. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. Larry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon.The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service for one hour prior to the service Wednesday afternoon.
