My deepest condolences to you and your family. Mrs. Spitz impacted my life by teaching me to read. I was one of many students, learning in her home and she always sent me off with a little snack.
I later became a children's librarian and could pass on many of her teachings.
I only have the kindest thoughts of Maddie, as she became a dear friend of our family.
Sending lots of love,
Helen Sternheim

Maddie and I were friends in High School. I would visit her home most afternoons and her mother would serve us a snack, She was maid of honor at my wedding. I introducted her to her husband Ted Spitz. Ted and I both worked at Curtis Wright Electronics at that time. We kept up our friendship through the years. She will be missed by many.
With love,
Helen Sternheim
