Mae was a new friend, but I loved to spend time with her. She was such a genuinely kind and loving lady. She had an amazing memory and genuine interest and love for everyone she met. I will miss her.

It was with great sorrow that Shelley and I learned from my mother of Mae's passing. She has been a true inspiration to Shelley, our son, and me and we always enjoyed a visit home to Dartmouth to see her and Wendell; a cup of tea and a delicious tray of sweets always magically appeared shortly after our arrival. On our last visit to Dartmouth, it was very special to visit this wonderful lady who contributed so much to what I have been able to achieve as a boy growing up in the Nova Scotia bagpiping community and in my life-long career. Rest in peace, Mae; you will be truly missed by all the Hagars.
