My sympathies to the Dillon and Lockwood families on their loss of Mairead especially as her father Dr.Steven Dillon recently died in Millstreet,Cork this year.My memories of Mairead are of a young, skinny ,blond school girl around 8or 9 years old reading a book while having her hair cut.About ten years later I had to ask " Who is that beautiful ,blond girl waiting in the hall?"So very sorry for your loss.

I taught Mairead in Drishane. She was an able student. She knew how to have fun. She. Was strictly honest and always owned up to any pranks that she shared with her classmates. She had fair hair and a huge smile. Mairead you are fondly remembered. Go raibh Leaba I measc na Naomh agat. ( in English; may you have a bed among the saints)

We are deeply saddened to learn of Mairead's passing. Although we've not interacted recently, we have fond memory of her when our children were young and played together in the neighborhood. She had such a warm and sunny presence. One can tell how much she treasured her children. She had been such a good neighbor...always offering her home for people to shower during power outage.
Our hearts go out to her family: Brian, Ben, and Abby, and extended family. Please let us know if there's any way we can offer some support during this difficult time and onward.

Mairead didn´t feel like making the second part of our hike. I offered to stay back with her. We sat under the bridge by the river as everyone went on. We had the best conversation, we shared life's up and downs. While sitting there on the rocks a butterfly lands in front of us and just sutels there. Mairead reached out and told him pet it. She made the comment something must be wrong with it. We went back to our conversation and that butterfly just sat there. Then it dawned on me that the butterfly was drinking from the sand. By the end of out time under the bridge we had 7 butterflies drinking water at our feet. What an amazing moment we shared. I only knew her for a short time however it felt like we had been friends for a life time.

I always enjoyed spending time with Mairead, at the barn, while our girls rode their horses. She was always supportive of others and willing to lend a hand. The last time we spoke on the phone, it was like we were back there beside the arena, watching the girls ride. What a wonderful person.

Mairead was one of the kindest souls I have ever met. She made you feel warm and seen in every conversation. Even when she was hurting or in pain, she cared about what others were going through and never complained. She helped me more than I can say. There are very few humans as wonderful and compassionate as Mairead. She will be truly missed.

I am so grateful Mairead and I intersected in life and became dear friends. She is a beautiful, warm spirit filled with kindness and love. Abby and Ben - you were the center of her universe, and she spoke very proudly of you two. I love that when I think of her I am filled with joy and a big smile from the inside out. That´s the impression she left on me. I will always carry her with me

I´ll always cherish the memory of meeting her in person for the first time back in 2010, during my first visit to the U.S. Staying at your home, I was immediately struck by Mairead´s warmth and calming presence. She made me feel so welcome, and her kindness left a lasting impression on me.

Brian, Ben, and Abby, my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Please know that my thoughts are with you, and I hope you find comfort in the beautiful memories you shared with her.

Knowing Mairead for 10+, while working for ApexSQL was great experience as from business and personal perspective. Brian, Ben , Abby very sorry for the loss and wish you to be strong.

Working with Mairead over the years has been an absolute pleasure. She has set such high standards for her work that a full team of employees couldn't match what I and other colleagues have gotten used to during Mairead's tenure at ApexSQL. Mairead made us feel welcome when we first came from Europe to visit US: I remember fondly how she helped me find my way back after getting lost on an NC highway immediately after I got behind the wheel of a rental - I will always remain grateful to Mairead for how she was able to resolve stressful situations at work and otherwise. We first met Mairead when our kids were very young (right before the oldest started kindergarten together). She was devoted to her family and had such a vibrant personality. I feel so lucky to have known her and my memories of her will always make me smile.

Mairead always made people laugh. She lit up any room she entered with infectious smile. She was a dedicated horse show Mom and fencing mom always behind her children cheering them on. She loved animals and people. She had a warm heart and always was willing to listen and talk. It was an honor to know her. Mary Zahn
