To the Family and Close Friends of Major Owens: Today with sad hearts we remember Mr. Owens and his legacy as a spokesperson for the people. Helping to pass the Ameican with Disabilities Act in particular showed that he was devoted to seving the people, a passion that is progressively fading away. May your precious memories of him prove to be a source of comfort during the difficult times to come, and may you draw close to God in prayer knowing that he will draw close to you and grant you peace of heart and mind.

His dedication to education, civil rights, anti-poverty, and people with disabilities--just to mention a few crucial matters--helped to make our dear country better and more just. He will be truly missed!

Major Owens accomplished many things to be proud of and leaves this heritage to his family. As scripture says in Ecclesiastes 7:1 "A good name is better than good oil, and the day of death is better than the day of birth"...for we are rememberd by God and man for all we've done. Mr. Owens, thanks for all you've done to help people.
