Makoto Suzuki Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 30, 2024.
Makoto Suzuki, born on September 27, 1961, in Nagoya, Japan, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Marlene, his cherished daughters, Sapphire and Nicole, and Sapphire's fiancé, Thomas Townsend, as well as brothers, Takashi and Shigeru, his sisters, Toyoko and Eiko, and many nieces and nephews. Makoto was preceded in death by his parents Tsuneo and Tokiko Suzuki of Nagoya, Japan.

A man of extraordinary talents, Makoto's creativity knew no bounds. As an artist, he painted beautiful pictures that captured the essence of his soul. He had also mastered the guitar and often filled the air with melodies that touched hearts far and wide.

In the kitchen, Makoto was a culinary virtuoso, earning the title of "rock star" for his homemade focaccia bread and baking skills he learned as a baker in Japan. His culinary creations were a source of joy and comfort for all who had the pleasure of tasting them.

Beyond his artistic and culinary talents, Makoto was a skilled athlete, possessing strength and agility that belied his age. However, it was his passion for healing and gardening that truly set him apart.

In the early 1980s, Makoto embarked on a journey to California with a mission to promote organic farming and a healthy lifestyle. Throughout his life, he remained committed to his ideals, tirelessly advocating for the healing power of nature and the importance of sustainable living.

Makoto was also a minister at The Johrei Fellowship in Los Angeles, where he found solace and community. He dedicated himself to the practice of faith and healing services, sharing his gifts and offering support to those in need. Makoto's commitment to his spiritual beliefs enriched the lives of those around him, leaving a profound impact on the community he served. After leaving the church he did healing work on his own, along with his wife.

In honoring Makoto Suzuki's life, let us remember his unwavering strength, his boundless love for others, and his deep commitment to faith, healing and nature. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all. Makoto will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Let us carry forward his legacy of resilience, kindness, and unwavering faith and may his soul rest in eternal peace. Makoto, your legacy and dream will continue to live on through all those who loved you. Rest in peace.
