As we are morning the Passing, yet celebrate his talented life that he accomplished, we all know he is in the good place now and but Malachy McCourt soul is in HEAVEN. Malachy McCourt was believed for portraying the Bartender Kevin on ABC Soap Opera Ryan Hope across the show 14-years-run. I do remember watching Ryan´s Hope when I was grown up. Also, he be missed, yet never be forgotten.

How can one not me enamored off this great man. I never met him in person. I live in Utah. I had just read Death Need Not be Fatal and laughed and cried. I dropped my daughter off at airport to go see her girlfriend in NYC. I made an outrageous request and said you have to find Malachy McCourt! in response Abby said."Mom, New York is a big city!" I said if I was going, I would find him. What a sweetheart she was on her last day there she searched, found him on Facebook stating that he would be signing books at an outdoor fair. She told her friend, I promised Mom" they took the 1.5 hour trip, got him to sign a book and took a photo. She gave me the book for Mother´s Day!

Indeed, Malachy was and still is am amazing character, actor and friend. One of many various productions and nights at the Irish Arts Center with which I was a producer, Malachy was starring in PLUNKITT OF TAMMANY HALL one of the worst figures in City Hall. The show was going well when I checked in on the show in the back of the theatre.
Malachy was talking but the stage lights had gone out. Upon rushing back to the lighting booth, I awoke the Stage Manager and told her to fix the lights. After what seemed like 3 acts, she did so and the show continued. Malachy will probably outlive us all.

I shall place this here, for I have no other place to do so. America, especially New York, is bereft of a gadabout and storyteller par excellence. I met him once at a bookstore in New Paltz. This was a long time meeting since I was a fan since his WMCA Days. Loved him then and love him and miss Malachy now.
