To all the family,
My thoughts and prayers were with you on Friday as you celebrated Mac's life. Mac was a great man and a favoured uncle! When planning our wedding, he was a natural choice for giving the toast to the bride with his great sense of humour, his gentle nature, and his ability to put people at ease. He was always very good to me - welcoming and indulgent as needed! He is who I strive to be with my own nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

Grampa,
I will always miss you but I was lucky to have you around for 36 years. I grew up at the cottage and visited you during retirement and helped you out at your home. I still enjoyed brief conversations near the end.
I will never forget your wisdom and words and hope to be like you when I am a Grampa one day. Take it easy in your new life and say "Hi" to dad for me.

Dear Pat:
Please accept my most sincere condolences over the recent passing of Mac. Many times we sat together at Rotary luncheons, having additional things in common -- war service, being trade association executives and having English forbears. Moreover, Mac achieved something I could envy and admire but not aspire to -- being a "perfect gentleman". Indeed, your ex-neighbour, who moved to just around the corner from us, marvelled at the fact that Mac always "dressed for dinner" in your house -- i.e. tie and jacket. Mac blushed a bit when I recounted this to him and he said that he did it in courtesy to you...
After he could no longer drive his car, you were kind enough to bring him to the Chateau for Rotary luncheons and then pick him up again -- something that we all appreciated!
I regret that I did not attend the funeral at St. John's, now under way, because I am taking medical treatments which keep me out of circulation for a few days.
With best wishes,
Don Chutter
PS to Gary: I don't think that I ever had the pleasure of meeting you, but my condolences are also extended to you and to your family.
