RIP Mac! Fond memories of Berliner Park, Prime Rib Restaurant and Saxbe, Boyd and Prine Law Firm!

Dear Barbara
I used to work for Ryan Financial Services. I met "Mac" many times and he was tough but oh so fair. He made sure when Ryan Homes was bought out that all the Ryan people were looked after.

One of a typical "Mac" doing-My father-in-law and my Mother-in-law were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. I asked for some Pirate tickets through the proper Ryan people. Mac got wind of it and my in laws got a special parking pass and they watched the game from THE OWNER'S BOX!. Mac was famous for doing things for folks and never letting on that it was him.

"As long as we live, he too will live; for he is now a part of us, as we remeber him"

Dear Barbara, we were deeply saddened to learn of Mac's passing today. Though we never saw him much due to our schedules, when we did bump into him in the elevator, he always had a smile and a kind word. He will be missed by everyone who knew him in our building. Please accept our deepest condolences and know that we will pray for Mac. Be comforted in knowing that so many people thought so highly of him.

Dear Barbara - We are deeply saddened with the passing of Mac. We shall always remember the great times we had together, especially at the Quail Ridge Concerts and dinner. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

Mrs. Prine,

I met Mac when I was the Thursday night piano player at the Shiloh Inn in the early 1980s. I was running a very small community development corporation (non-profit) at the time. I handed him my card and said, "I figure you're the biggest housing builder in Pittsburgh, and I'm the smallest. Could we have lunch so I could learn from you?" He said yes. I learned a lot. Together, we built Ryan's first new home in the City of Pittsburgh in about 25 years. (Many more followed!). That house is a blessing to its owner to this day. Mac was very patient with me, despite my many mistakes on the project. I will never forget his kindness, wisdom, and generous contribution to our neighborhood. God grant you comfort in your loss.
