I was an Anthropology Major and also worked for Dr. Webb as a Student Worker while an undergrad in the early 90's. He had a tremendous intellect and an instinct for Cultural Anthropology. His retirement as Chair was a loss to the University but his death is a loss to the entire field.
He will be greatly missed, even those guyabera shirts that we all remember so fondly!

Malcolm Webb was my professor for many courses, 1974 to 1980. He was a great teacher, particularly memorable were his courses on the Anthropology of religion and Mesoamerica. Jim Morehead (Ft. Walton Beach)

Dr Webb taught me Physical Anthropology at the University of New Orleans in 1976 (and taught my mother the same course in 1974). He was a wonderful professor, passionate and with an endless supply of information. I'm sure my classmates and I got way more than we paid for in his course! He was one of the true greats at UNO!

Malcolm Webb, from time to time, also attended the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, and I met him there. I knew of his being active at the then-Church of the Holy Comforter, where I also met him along with several friends I had at that church. He was an excellent scholar and a dedicated churchman. May he now rest in peace.
