I met Mal in the late spring of 1982 at his Sunday evening Bible study group. I later attended his Keller Fellowship School and church, where I focused on his teach the Bible´s Koine Greek. We remained long distance friends until his pass ing on to Jesus. He was the best bible teacher in my opinion. Loved the guy!

I first met Mal when I hired him as my morning talk show host on KWJS radio, broadcasting 50,000 watts to the Dallas Ft. Worth metroplex. It was a new format for this leading station of Sonlife Radio and Mal impressed me as the right man for the job. And over the course of the next 5 yrs., Mal proved me so right. He not only was my employee, he became my dear friend. We had many talks about making the morning show spiritually relevant and he was more than up to the challenge. I believe only now has it been revealed in heaven to Mal how many lives he touched in those broadcasts. It is so rewarding to know ...all things are made perfect in our lives when we walk by faith and follow His will for our lives. Mal remains always in my heart and mind as I journey on in broadcasting and theater. I thank God he was brought into my life back in 1980 in Arlington Texas.

Im not sure what to say, other that for a period in my life Dr. Couch was the person whom God chose to bring me out of a life of rebellion. I was saved at a very young age but had walked away for many years. God put Dr. Couch in my life and put me back on His course. I cannot put into words what Dr.Couch has meant and still does mean to my life. Thank You God for this faithful man who never gave up.

I first heard Dr. Couch on the radio in the 1980's on KWJS and was very blessed.
I also, had the opportunity to hear him teach live verse by verse several times during this time period. I was always blessed by this great man of god. I recently began listening to his teaching online. He will be greatly missed. I will continue to pray for his wife Dr. Lacy Couch and the Couch family.

I met Dr. Cuuch in 1997 while an undergrad student at North Greenville University. He almost immediately began to offer to me discipleship. From there I took a 15 year discipleship journey with him. 9 of those years were in formal seminary studies. He and his wife Lacy have forever touched my life. He was to me what Paul was to Timothy, a spiritual father. I miss him greatly. He laughed with me, prayed for me, taught me, corrected me, and most of all was even a friend through all those years! He never grew tired of teaching the Word of God and his passion for the Bible and people left us an example to follow and emulate. His work ethic also stands a model for us to strive towards in our pursuit of Christ. I love you Mal! See ya soon in glory my friend.

Dr. Couch was my theology professor and mentor from 2002-2005. I learned so much from him and what the Lord had taught him he passed on to others. It was eye opening. I grew so much under his guidance. He had a great sense of humor. We stayed in touch through Scofield Ministries in these recent years. I always knew he was there. He was always concerned with how my ministry here on Martha's Vineyard was going. Saddened but joyful that he is with the Lord he loved so much and served. Thank you, Dr. Lacy Couch for all you do. You're love and support have meant so much to me and so many others. With love and gratitude in Christ, Mark Guilford, D. Min, Pastor, Martha's Vineyard Bible Church

Mal was my Pastor in the 60's at the Naperville Bible Church and i always wondered where he was living and ministering. Sounds like he was used of God in many lives and i am sure he heard "Well Done" when he was ushered into Heaven..

I am so thankful to God for being introduced to Dr. Mal Couch by my former Pastor Dr.Michael Willmouth. I have learned so much from these ministry series. I am so sad, and I miss Dr. Couch so much, and I am going to be praying for Lacy, and the family. I'm so thankful for Dr. Couch's ministry of teaching. First Tyndale course was "Rebuilding NT Churches" in 2002. I've been learning from him through books, CDs, seminary courses since. Never had the opportunity to meet him face to face, but we'll soon see each other at the Rapture. Can't wait.

I met Dr Couch and Lacey one weekend for a conference. There was a beautiful atmosphere of love and fellowship there. Mal was very generous with time, information, books, laughter and love. He is a wealth of knowledge and godliness who has been silenced when we need him most. I am happy for him and sad for us yet hopeful still.

There is no way to express just what the last 19 years with Dr Couch have been like. I have never known anyone more committed to instilling the Word of God into others as he was. He encouraged me when I needed it, corrected me when necessary, and was a faithful friend always.
I was honored to serve as his assistant at the conferences in Clifton, and long for the day when we all can gather again to hear the Word taught first hand.
THANK YOU Dr. Couch for blessing so many, and may God find us faithful in teaching His unfailing word.

I used to communicate with Dr. Couch by email when I was having problems with church here in Australia. He sent me many of his books for distribution with Christians and my church to help out and somehow slow down the tide of apostasy from faith. He even offered to send Dr. John Pappas to help start a church who break away from our previous apostate church.
I will see you someday personally Dr. Couch. In the meantime your books and legacy here with us remains.

Dr. Mal Couch was a man who dedicated his life to teaching the truth in God's word. Saying "Thank You" just doesn't seem to be enough for his imparting that truth to others. He was an incredible man. Lacy, you're in our thoughts and prayers. The Butler Family

I have been a frequent visitor to the Scofield website over the past several years. I have greatly appreciated the Q&A, books, Gathering Storm, recorded Bible teaching messages, etc. God only knows this side of glory the impact of his word through his servant Dr. Couch. Though we've never met Mrs. Couch, you have my sampathy in this time of your loss. Soon the blessed hope will come to pass as we have that grand meeting in the air with our great God and savior Jesus Christ.

What fond memories we have of Dr Mal and his wife, Dr Lacy from our 6 yrs at Tyndale Bible Seminary in Ft Worth. I found we learned more during that time than any other time period before or since. They both were excellent teachers and became dear, dear friends who we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Dr Mal will be missed but we know he is already asking deep questions of the Lord, ever learning and ever teaching... and he is enjoying the Presence of our Saviour and King. We love you and appreciate your input in our lives. Ken and Carolyn Williamson Kennedale, Tx.

I became acquainted with Dr. Couch through his "Gathering Storm" series. The Lord entrusted this wonderful man with an amazing outreach to not only the saved, but to the unsaved as well, with an ability to edify the truth of God's Word to what is happening in the world today in terms we can understand. I thank the Lord for Mal's faithfulness in the task the Lord set before him. Matt 25:21 "His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master."

Dr. Couch was a pastor at heart. He spent hours on the phone talking to everyone in the Church and seminary concerning spiritual matters in their lives. His sincere care for everyone was evident in his manner of speaking. He was easy, fatherly, even relaxed in his later years as he ministered with kindness and steadiness as only Dr. Couch could do. The endless letters and questions to young pastors and individual members of troubled Churches over the last few years speaks volumes of the trust he possessed with all kinds of people.

One of the most enduring legacy of his life can be summed up in the expression “the Bible as it is for men as they are.” He loved the Lord and passed down a legacy of Bible teaching that stressed a “keep it simple” approach to expository teaching from the pulpit. He could teach at every level of seminary class, yet keep the level of teaching to the appropriate level of the class. Likewise, from the pulpit, no Sunday was complete without a personal application of the lesson.

We have only known Dr. Couch a few years, while attending the Clifton Bible Church; but we have never learned as much of the Bible teachings in all our days of church attendance as we have here with him. We thank our Lord always for bringing him to us. Prayers go out to his lovely wife and partner, Lacy, and their family.

Mal taught me how to study the Word of God, gave me a couple great years of New Testament Greek tutoring, and became a life long and true friend. I am happy knowing he is absent from an ailing body and now present with THE LORD for Eternity. A "Well done Good and Faithful Servant" Man. Our condolences and best wishes to his wife Lacy, and the rest of the Couch family. John Roemer, and wife Patty as well.

The body of Christ has lost one of its brightest lights. With infatiguable passion and unwavering tenacity Dr. Couch held the line against Biblical compromise. His passion for Scriptural truth and sound Biblical hermeneutics was only overshadowed by his fervor for Christ. Dr. Couch's oft quoted axiom was "the Bible is dispensational." - Dr. Kenny Rhodes, President, Scofield Seminary, CA

Dr. Couch helped me grow greatly at Tyndale Seminary. I loved listening to him talk about the people of Israel, God's sovereignty, Church History, and the transforming power of the Scriptures. He now joins the "great cloud of witnesses" he so passionately taught us. He will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with Mrs. Couch.

The first time I heard Dr. Couch teach verse by verse on a Sunday morning, it was on Ps. 139. In that one hour teaching, I got more than all the sermons of a lifetime. It was also that teaching which closed the door on thinking abortion was anything but the murder of the unborn.

Dr. Couch was another link in the chain back to Christ and I humbly attempt to continue those links to others until the last link GOD intends is made and calls all of the links to be with HIM, forever!
