Mandisa was a wonderful person who was so talented with her music and singing. I am a devoted fan of hers since seeing her on American idol and I listen to her music all the time. I’ve read both of her books and seen her in concert 4 times. Her music means so much to me and she has a lot of beautiful songs. I’m very sad still that she passed away so young, but there is hope that she is now in heaven. She will be dearly missed. My condolences to her parents, siblings, family, and friends.

The devil always pursues those who are instrumental in bringing people to Jesus.
When I bought a house, didn't move in right away, tried to move in, found the copper had been stolen, including the wiring, it was not only financially devastating, but frightening. On the way back to my apartment, from which I was about to be evicted, holding a mattress on the car's roof with our hands out the windows, on a cold winter night, the radio played "Overcomer". I, almost immediately, said, "We're not going to sell this house. We're overcomers! (We had decided to sell. We were too afraid to live there).

I struggled a lot with depression from my circumstances in high school, and Mandisas music from Album 1 to Out of the Dark saved me from going into those really dark places. Her story and voice carried me and gave me confidence to keep fighting my battles. I am forever thankful for her and her voice of influence.

Mandisa was such an inspiration to me. She encouraged me to finish writing my book. Unfortunately, I didn't get to send her one. Because her passing before I could do so. I wanted to send her one. But now I would love to send it to her parents as a way of saying thanks for her encouragement for me to finish it. I knew Mandisa briefly in high school. She was a senior when I was a sophomore so we wouldn’t have had much interaction normally but we had a PE class together and she was always nice to me. She was talented and gracious even as a teenager. I did not follow her career closely but it’s not surprising that she touched the hearts of many. My deepest condolences to her close friends and family and to the many others who were touched by her light.

Hearing the news of Mandisa's passing has been very hard for me. I have related to her on so many levels for many years. Her music has given me hope, inspiration, and strength when I have needed it the most. And she was a big part of the Women of Faith family that I always treasured. As my heart is hurting, I am also rejoicing for Mandisa as I know that she is out of the dark, and finally resting in the peace that she has longed for, for so long. In the arms of Jesus. I am so grateful for her and will continue to be blessed by her music forever.
I am so grateful for her. The world is a bit dimmer without her, but Heaven has gained a beautiful light. Love you Mandisa. Rest in the arms of Jesus

The 1st time I heard Mandisa was when she took on Simon Cowell. She shined like a beacon on that show and with him and she did not back down and her music was beautiful. I remember her kissing Simon on the lips, making an impression on him. Her smile was so infectious, she had such a beautiful spirit inside and out. It just goes to show you how one person can change and touch so many lives. And the Lord said, enter in my good and faithful servant. We will miss you Mandisa So greatly. Thank you for blessing our lives with your compassion, your music, your beauty, you truly made the world a better place.

Such an amazing woman! An amazing voice! A beautiful smile! An amazing personality! I would always tell my friends and family, if I had a chance to add one more friend to my list it would be MANDISA! Wish I had had that chance. I had seen her in concert at a church in Albuquerque and I was hoping to meet her after her performance but she was unable to stay. I had asked a member of the church too see if I could get her to sign my picture of her I had purchased before she left. He took the picture to her and she gladly signed it for me. I was so happy and blessed. She will always be a blessing to me as I continue to hear her inspiring songs.
LOVE YOU MANDISA!

I had the privilege of seeing Mandisa for the very first time at the Women of Faith conference in Houston in 2012. I went to her table in hopes of meeting her but she wasn't there. I told the gentlemen that was selling you cd's that I love the song she sang "Shackles" and bought my first Mandisa cd ! Fast forward 2016 I succumb to sepsis and was hospitalized for a month and 2 weeks. When I was admitted I asked my husband to buy me a small cd player and to bring my Mandisa cd's to me. First God and foremost healed me from sepsis and Mandisa's voice, music and lyrics helped me through this very difficult time in my life. I joined a group of facebook and was able to share this story with her and to my surprise she responded. From this facebook group, a young women by the name of Dionne saw the message between Mandisa and I and privately messaged me about my story. Because of Mandisa, Dionne and I are the best of friends. We just shared today about how are friendship began with Mandisa and heartbroken as the world is today because she is no longer with us on this earth. I'd like to add when I lost my only brother to cancer in 2019, Mandisa,"Broken Halleluja" help me cope with the pain. We celebrate her life and rejoice knowing we will see her again soon.

My sincere condolences to Mandisa's family and best friends. I followed Mandisa ever since American Idol. Mandisa sang like an angel. Her songs got me through a very low point in my life, especially the song Overcomer. She was a beautiful soul inside and out and she gave me inspiration to keep trying and fighting. My thoughts and prayers are with her mom and dad and the rest of her family. Rest with God, Rest in Peace, Mandisa. I know you are in a beautiful place.

Mandisa! You shined Jesus's light and truth so so well!! You were at the beginning of all of my playlists and mixed throughout! You and your music are such an inspiration! You got me up off the couch many times! I got to see you in concert, in 2021, after having to wait for a pandemic-postponed concert. I also stayed up to watch a live-streamed concert. Your family and friends were so kind to let me and anyone live stream your celebration of life service! It was an amazing tribute to you and our King Jesus! You are very loved! You will continue to inspire me and many others! Love you, Sister!

Mandesa was one of my favorite Christian artists and my go to for inspiration and encouragement. I am usually dancing when 'Overcomer' is playing. I have been thinking about her since I heard the news and I feel sad. I KNOW where she is; its just she is no longer here to sing about our Saviour and the GOOD NEWS. Her life has been such a tremendous blessing to so many; me included. I rejoice that she is where we all want to be and where she is totally free from suffering. My sincerest condolences to her family and friends. May the God of all comfort hold you close. Karen(sister in Christ)

My first memory of Mandisa was on American Idol. And I was blown away by her voice and her spirit. My daughter, who at the time was in elementary school and I used to sit in the car in the driveway after getting home from work and school and play Mandisa´s songs which we called our driveway concerts. And it was so awesome and uplifting. My daughter is now 26 and we both still love and cherish Mandy songs and that special time in our lives. You will forever live in our hearts.

RIP Mandisa. For all the help you tried to give others, no one knew the pain you were hiding behind that beautiful smile of yours. The music you wrote, and sang showed a beautiful spirit who was deeply I love with her Lord and Savior, but as with all of us, showed you weren't afraid to ask the hard questions to Him. I love your music and I know you are up there worshipping and dancing with our Lord. I pray that God will let me meet you one day when we're both in heaven. God bless your family and friends. May He give them peace, strength and may they feel your spirit with them always.

I remember my wife and l were living in the attic between 2011 and 2013. We struggled to get by. But then we were greatly encouraged by these words "don't give up, don't give in, don't quit" in one of Mandisa's songs. We purchased some of her albums which we played almost every day. When I heard of her death, my wife and I were very saddened. Since I learned of her passing, I have been playing her CDs in my car every day. We are so sorry that she has gone so soon. I believe she is in a better place - with Jesus

I never knew Mandisa personally. However she was a beautiful soul and an amazing proclaimer of God's glory through her wonderful music. She gave me hope when I had none. Her music has been such a blessing. A favorite song of mine is Bleed The Same by Mandisa, Toby Mac, and Kirk Franklin. I always felt separated from everyone else due to many reasons, however, this song gave me hope that there are others who are welcoming just as Christ is. You're right, Mandisa, we all bleed the same. No matter what we stand together. I'm very sorry for all of those who were close to her. My prayers and condolences go out to you. Remember you're loved by a Creator who has everything in control! He has every little thing planned. We'll join Mandisa one day. We'll be up there in the heavens proclaiming God's glory forever! Fly high, love! You'll be dearly missed!

Disa and I had a unique relationship. People often mistook us for each other. And we always laughed about it. People thought she was me sometimes, and I can´t tell you how many times I´ve heard someone yelling, `MANDISA!´ And then I would have to curb their enthusiasm and let them know I was Da´dra.

And the last time I saw her was here in Texas. And we had THE SAME HAIRDO! We laughed and said, `Oh, this makes matters even worse!´ Lol But we took pictures together to show that we were indeed two different people. But in truth, we were the same in so many ways, and not just similar with our cheekbones.

I´m going to miss our check ins. I would often call her from my prayer room. I´ll continue to pray for her family, friends and all of us who are grieving her transition. But I can´t help thinking that she´s having the time of her life dancing in God´s presence.

Disa, I´m really gonna miss you. But I´ll see you again one day. Enjoy the freedom you so often spoke about for others. Now, it´s yours.

One of the first times I heard the Shackles song was at a Beth Moore Conference! Mandisa was a power house! It's still one of my favourites. Her struggles were real, yet her love for Jesus and her encouragement to so many with Overcomer, and so many other great songs will live on for generations to come. Blessings and condolences to her friends and family! I look forward to singing with her in heaven!

Your smile lit up a room. I will miss the person And blessing you were in my life. It was short. Your faith in God and the way you lived your life for me forever changed all of us. Even as Christians we have dark days, sad days but we also know God is there to scoop you up and carry you through. God is carrying you and now you are in God's presence.
Miss ya more ME&us

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

The news was sad and it doesn´t matter how she passed but that she is now at peace with our lord. Her inspiration will carry on her legacy and hopefully influence others like she had while even fighting own battles. ( I just finished her book)

Mandisa was on my heart several times this month. I had been praying that the Lord would give her new songs and she would continue singing for Him. I believe she is doing so now in His presence!!

She had a song called "Broken Hallelujah" one one of her albums. I felt like it was meant for all of us whose experienced heartache. Beautiful and poignant song!

I loved Mandisa from the first time I ever saw her...on American idol. She has touched me with her music. I used several of her songs in the Zumba classes I taught. I have seen her in concert three times. She was so positive and an inspiration. She signed one of my Zumba hoodies and I will never forget meeting her in person. She is/was my favorite female Christian artist. I know she is with Jesus now singing and rejoicing. I will never forget you. Love Vicki Fox
