Marc-Andre William LeClerc, known to many as "The Clerk," was called to his eternal rest on December 1, 2023, in the tranquil city of Kathmandu, Nepal. His life began on June 8, 1993, in the serene town of Banff, Canada, where he was embraced by the majestic beauty of God's creation from his very first breath.

Gifted with a brilliant mind and a seeker's spirit, Marc-Andre pursued a path of scholarly devotion, culminating in a Ph.D. in Indo-European linguistics from Cornell University. His academic achievements were reflections of his profound respect for the divine gift of language and communication.

Marc-Andre's vocation as a professional mountain guide was a true expression of his humility and his deep reverence for the natural world. He led others not only across the physical expanse of the mountains but also to a greater understanding and appreciation of the Creator's handiwork. His service as a dishwasher was performed with the same dignity and respect, exemplifying the honor in all work done well.

His personal joys-skiing, reading, knitting, and climbing-were acts of silent praise, celebrating the abundant gifts bestowed upon him. Through these pursuits, Marc-Andre honored the Creator, cherishing the bountiful earth and all its splendors.

Left to cherish his memory is his father, Rick, who nurtured and guided Marc-Andre with love and wisdom. His mother, Samantha, preceded him in his journey to the Kingdom of Heaven, and now they are reunited in the presence of the Lord.

A solemn service will be held on Monday at the Wee Blew Inn, where loved ones will gather in fellowship to honor Marc-Andre's memory. Together, they will give thanks for the blessing of his life and the enduring impact of his gentle soul.

The family suggests that in place of flowers, contributions be made to the American Alpine Club, an organization that embodies Marc-Andre's stewardship for the mountainous cathedrals he so cherished.

Lindquist Mortuary in Syracuse, Utah, has been called upon to oversee the arrangements, providing compassionate support to the bereaved in this time of reflection and prayer.
