I just learned of Mark’s passing in 2017. He was such a great person. We did a Freshman engineering project together at Marquette and he was such a blast to be around. He just made you feel at home. I cherish the time we spent inventing the battery heated glove with Eric Borkenhagen and Andy Bittman. We affectionately called him “Deko”. I am honored to have spent some time on this Earth with him. I will keep him in my prayers and I hope to see him again in the next life. May God hold you in the palm of his hand Deko!

What a beautiful, exceptionally written, touching obituary for another Angel who was called Home to Heaven.

Like everyone else I was shell shocked, dumfounded, shaken, and I still am in disbelief to hear such tragic, unfathomable news about my good cousin Marc's sudden passing...and way too soon. Thinking about him every day. Sadly we will see no more, live, that sweet, forever smile, easygoing wonderful personality, always laughing demeanor, from this young man except to be immortalized in pictures. I truly can't believe this. The whole thing seems just surreal. It goes beyond unthinkable!

I had just seen Marc two months prior when he came to his home town (Libertyville, IL) to visit for Father's Day and help his parents, Claude and Sharon, and we all sat and talked around the kitchen table all afternoon spending quality time. At the same time he was plugged into his laptop and always working and working hard. Little did we all know what next... Sadly, it was the last time I saw him. I am soooooo glad I went to visit family that day and got to see Marc. I miss him and wished to have spent more good times with him and was hoping to visit him in Austin one day soon.

In reading the posts I am not surprised that Marc was such a strong, positive, enriching influence on people's lives that he came into contact with including myself. He knew how to have fun and lived his life to the fullest and made huge, enviable accomplishments in his life in such a short time. We should all live by his example. And, I'll never forget--one of my fond memories of him--he saved my dog's life some years ago after I told him what the dog's problem was when I was at my wit's end and Marc made a simple, helpful, caring suggestion that worked. God bless him forever!

Claude and Sharon, know that you can be proud of Marc and can hold your heads up high that you raised a wonderful son and a good man to many. Andrea, you were blessed to have known an exceptional man like Marc. Stay strong all. Life is a gift. Life is too short no matter how long we have the privilege of being here. Let's all bond together, and take comfort in the warm memories of Marc and our family.

To the friends of Marc's who put together a wonderful memorial of the celebration of Marc's life like I've never seen before. Great slide show. Great job!

To all the lives Marc has touched, our loss, my sincere and deep heartfelt condolences.

Sincerely,

With love and sorely missed by your cousin,

Annie

Dear Sharon and Claude,
I never met your son Marc but for me, his passing is a big loss. I would have loved to meet and get to know the man who inspired my niece, Andrea to follow her heart and her dreams. By all the posts I've been reading, he was an exceptional human being. He touched many people who are better for having known him.
May you find peace in knowing your son touched people who never met him with his love and generosity. I will always be grateful he gave Andrea the strength and determination to do what felt right and true for herself.
You must be exceptional parents to have raised such a wonderful son.
Sincerely,
Valerie Williams

Sharon & Claude, I'm so sorry for your loss. And Andrea, so very sorry. Marc was a great neighbor in Gurnee and a friend. I was just wondering how he was doing in Texas during the storms, and decided to look him up in FB. I was shocked to hear of his passing. I have not kept in touch since I moved to South Carolina. My prayers are with you. Patricia (Pat) Felak

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Dekirmandjian,
Marc was a great friend and had such a wonderful and easy nature about him. I'm deeply saddened to learn of his passing. I was his classmate through all the years at Oak Grove elementary school and through highschool. His humor, smile, and genuine kindness were always present. I pray you find comfort through all the friends and family that surround you. With love and sympathy, Debbie

I can't believe Marc is no longer with us. He had an amazing energy about him regardless of the challenge thrown his way. Marc was always a pleasure to work with on any program from the mundane to the "Hmmmm, not sure how to attack this..." He will be missed by many.
My heart goes out to his family and close friends who were blessed with knowing him even better than I did.

I had the pleasure to work with Marc in the ST Austin office back in 2006-2009. I really appreciated Marc's sense of humor and kindness. He was a very nice person and will not be forgotten

Marc: We will never forget the times we all had on Eagles Nest Lake when we were kids, and the great times fishing and having a few at the cabin on Lake Vermillion. Just the thought of you being reunited with Brett and Grandma and Grandpa will hopefully help the healing for your family and many friends. Like you always said with it was time to go home, "so long brutha"

Such a big part of my life. Cub Scout projects, trick-or-treating, learning to ride the horses bareback, building forts in the woods, rowdy sleep-overs, lab partners getting into trouble, massive snowball fights and childhood summers that seemed to last forever.
Thank you both for bringing him into this world. He will be missed greatly.

First, my heartfelt condolences to Mr. and Mrs. Dekirmandjian and Andrea. I was blessed to have Marc as my next door neighbor, friend, and as others have called him..like a brother for 11 years. The words neighbor and neighborly should have Marc's picture next to it in the dictionary. He was always offering to help me, looked out for my house, would find a way to assist even if he was busy. Good conversations and lots of laughter. Would text me from all over the world to check on his "babies" (his fish). It is so hard to look out my window and know I won't see him bounding out the door. Rest in peace Marc, you truly brought a lot of joy to this world.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Dekirmandjian,
We are deeply saddened to hear of this news of Marc's passing. It all seems too surreal to even be writing this message as I still feel at a loss of words. Having known Marc since he was a youngster, he was a great friend and person to all who knew him and always brought a smile and a laugh to everyone he was around. We had many great times together which will always be memorable and cherished. Marc will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both at this time of sorrow.

What a great loss at such an early age. I worked with Marc many years, and I emphasize "with" because he was always a team member not just a supplier, and worked hard to help us succeed. He will be greatly missed. My sincerest prayers and condolences to his family.

"Brutha, I got you covered" was the last email from you to me on 8/18/17. Marc, you lived your life to these words. I will miss and cherish the conversations we had on politics, sports, life and many others. The afternoon foosball game at work has a permanent void now.

We have made arrangements for Marc's celebration of life event for Monday August 28th at 5pm in Austin. The location is Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon http://thelittlelonghornsaloon.com/public_html_new/. Marc was a regular at Ginny's and everyone there knows him. We think this would have been his preference to have us at Ginny's to share stories and have a beer in his memory. For those who cannot travel, there will also be a gathering in Chicago, more details on that to follow. Please post favorite photos of Marc DeKirmandjian so we can build a slideshow to view on the TVs inside of Ginny's.

I worked in the ST Austin office with Marc back in 2006 and he was always a great colleague to work with. He had such a great sense of humor and was always ready to make you smile. We kept in touch during the past years and he came to visit CO this past June and it was a great reunion with several ST colleagues. I will keep you all in my prayers during this very tough time. Too young too soon

What a terrible loss. Words can't express my sincere condolences at this time. Marc was so full of life and so much fun to be around. We tried to see him whenever he was in town. Last October I finally made it to Austin to see his place where he took me out on his boat. I will always remember his smile and friendship.

Mom & Dad
There is a special gift in life that some of us receive;
It's not a fancy car or house or a brilliant jewel to wear;
No, that very special thing is a person, near and dear,
Someone we call "brother", the greatest gift of all`
I'm going to miss you my Brother
