Awesome surgeon and *God used him to give me a second chance at life. I thank *God for him and it brings me sadness to know such a great mind we have loss but gladness in knowing that he is at rest and peace well earned and with the Lord.

I try to talk about Dr. Posner in the operating room as much as possible to keep his memory alive. You are missed, Marc!

Not many weeks go by without something reminding me of Dr Posner. Usually brings a smile to my face or a out loud self chuckle! So that's what he meant, I tell myself.
Really few people have impacted my training as he did. He was so funny and incredibly kind privately.
He is missed regularly but he left a huge legacy that will endure.
My condolences to his entire family and large extended circle of friends.

Your presence is still felt in the clinics and operating rooms at the Richmond VA Hospital as well as in the hearts of those who you trained.

I was a medical student who came to know Dr Posner as one of my preceptors on my surgical rotation at Boston Univ. He was demanding but the lessons learned were instrumental in elevating our competency. We were all better for his example. He was meticulous in his care of patients. He wound up suggesting I pursue surgery but I decided on Internal Medicine. I'm a better MD because of Marc's contribution to my development professionally.

I worked with Dr. Posner in the OR at MCV for 5 years. I was a scrub tech there at the time and often scrubbed his kidney transplant cases. He demanded a certain standard of competency that is known to thicken a person's skin. I am honored to say that working with Dr. Posner has helped shape my career in the medical field. He was a great surgeon and did beautiful work. The memories that I have working with him in the past will always remain. He will be greatly missed.

My condolences. Marc was a fellow when I met him. I decided to join the transplant team when he became an attending. I learned so much from him. He has a legacy with the patients he served as well as the physicians and nursing staff.

Marc was a colleague, then a friend, and finally our surgeon. We arrived to MCV at around the same time and we soon found each other on the tennis court, sharing experiences, jokes, books and much more. He was a real renaissance man, and as a European, we communicated with a great deal of complicity, even about our reciprocal health problems.
When we received the sad news, we felt like we missed somebody who represented a milestone in our lifes. Mark will stay in our heart forever.

Stacy I am so sorry to hear this. He was such a wonderful person and caring physician. He gave so many extra years to my daughter Cherie Lyn Smith. I know he will be greatly missed.

Dr. Posner saved my 12 year old niece´s life in 1988. She wax the first adolescent patient to have this particular type of vascular surgery. We are grateful that she is now 47 years young thanks to him. One of the finest surgeons ever.

Dr. Posner saved my life when I was just 13 years old. I was the youngest patient(at the time-1988) that he´s performed an aortic graft repair on. I continued to see him for follow ups for about the next 10 years in which time he became more comfortable having a patient that wasn´t over 60. He was so proficient and had a great bedside manner. He will always be considered a hero in my family and I am grateful to have had him. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Marc Posner. I had the privilege of working with Dr. Posner on the vascular transplant team in the early 1990's. His surgical expertise and absolute attention to detail are some of the traits that he demanded not only of himself, but from every member of the team. I am a better person for having known him.

Dr. Posner was one of the surgeons who performed my kidney/ pancreas transplant in 1997. He was also the surgeon who performed my kidney transplant in 2011. He was truly a great surgeon who had a friendly bedside manner. He will truly be missed. My condolences to his family.

Dr Posner was always and will always remain dear to my heart. He intimidated many people because he was direct and honest as he expected maximum effort. I loved that about him. He also had a fantastic sense of humor. I like many have great stories about him. He taught me how to be a better surgeon. Most importantly, he taught me how to be a good teacher. He will be missed.

Marc was a cherished and skilled colleague that lacks modern contemporary. I am saddened by his departure, but his memory will live on in my thoughts as I navigate the changing landscape of healthcare.
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Our sincere heartfelt condolences for Dr. Poster´s wife Stacey and family. He was our son´s surgeon, Alex Clay for many years and many surgeries. Dr. Posher was a kind man and went out of his way for us. You are truly going to be missed by all. Thank you for everything you did for our family.

I am forever grateful to Dr. Posner for his dedication to my mother, Marjorie Elaine O'Brien's health and wellness. You gave us time with her that is truly appreciated! She loved you and Stacy. Your friendship meant the world to her. You will truly be missed!

Dr. Posner was a guiding force in my training as a surgeon- the example he set and the standard he held for anyone caring for his patients remains the bar I aspire to meet to this day. He made me a better surgeon, clinician and leader. His loss will be felt deeply. My deepest condolences to Stacey and his entire family.

Dr. Posner, was one of the two doctors who preformed a liver transplant on my mom, Marjorie Ellene O´Brien. For that, we will be forever grateful because we were given ten more years with her. She loved Dr. Posner and Stacy. I am so sorry to hear of his illness and his passing. He was a good man.

His was a life well lived and will be forever missed by the countless people that he touched. Prayers for Stacey, his daughters, granddaughter, and the whole Posner Family.
