Marcellea Gailes "Marcie" Fields Gray UPPER Marcellea Gailes Fields Gray, 75, departed this earthly life on October 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Marcellea was born on January 17, 1949, in Lafayette, LA, the oldest child of the late Terry James Fields and the late Mary Mae Guidry Gayden. She attended Goliad Jr. High School and Central High School (class of 1966). She is a graduate of Huston-Tillotson University, where she joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and earned a BA in Business Administration (1970). She later earned a MA in Public Administration from Golden Gate University (1977). She worked for ~40 years in drug treatment and mental health program administration and finance and accounting.

Left to cherish her memory are: her children, Maisha Gray-Diggs, Ph.D. (Andre) and Lateef H. Gray, Esq. (Cindy); grandchildren: William Diggs; Maya Diggs; and Eliana Gray; one sister Helen Marie Dupre-Barnett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
