MARCIA DILLON Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 11 to Oct. 12, 2014.
DILLON
MARCIA (SMITH)
Age 72, on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Marcia was a beloved and devoted wife of Thomas Dillon for 40 years. She was the cherished and beloved mother of Tracey Burkey (David deceased) of Cranberry Township and Wendy Pietrangelo (Brian) of Rocky River, OH; and loving and dear grandmother to Teagan, McKenna, Dillon, and Katie. She is the sister of Barbara Smith sister-in-law of Annette Smith and sister of Edward (Buddy) Smith. Marcia graduated from Saint Paul Cathedral's High School in 1959 and worked in banking, real estate and as a kidney dialysis patient coordinator before retiring. Marcia was a devoted and wonderful wife and mother who lived her life for her family. She was fun, sassy, stylish, and a dedicated Steelers fan! She was loved and admired by all who touched her life and will be sadly missed by many. Friends will be received on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the GLENN - KILDOO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Twp., PA 16066. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ferdinand Church, 2535 Rochester Rd., Cranberry Twp., on Tues., Oct. 14, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the Dillon family suggests that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at http://jdrf.org or JDRF 26 Broadway, New York, NY 10004 in honor of Marcia, who lived with Type 1 diabetes for 62 years. My condolences to Marcia's family. I just read about her passing, in the Oakland Catholic H.S. magazine. We were friends at St. Paul's Cathedral High School, graduating in 1959. Marcia was level-headed and responsible, but always fun, and able to see humor wherever it was--just as she looks in her picture. I really enjoyed spending time with her at our 50th reunion, a few years ago.

Tracey and Wendy, so sorry to hear about your mother. She was a wonderful woman. May God rest her soul and may you both find peace and comfort knowing that she is with our Heavenly Father.
