We'll raise a cup of kindness yet, our dear, for auld lang syne. Marcia Mary (Johns) Naes, 77, passed away on New Year's Eve at Avow Hospice in Naples, Florida. She was born in Midland, Michigan on Feb. 22, 1945, to the late Allen and Anna May Johns.

Marcia grew up spending summers with her family at their cottage on Lake Michigamme in the Upper Peninsula. She graduated from Midland High School in 1963 and Northern Michigan University in 1967. Known for her magnetic personality and the twinkle in her eyes, Marcia lived a passionate life. Her pursuit of love, adventure and service to others took her from Michigan to St. Louis, Missouri where she taught special education, followed by retirement in sunny Naples where she enjoyed many friendships and was an active volunteer in her community. A favorite pastime which brought Marcia great joy was keeping track of her grandnephews' hockey game scores.

In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her siblings Dickie, Florence Ann (Ray), Edie (Pete) and Bob (Sue), and nephew Al. She is survived by nieces Melody (Bob) Kraft, Cynthia (Michael) Rebibo, Carole Guizzetti (Michael Case) and grandnephews/nieces Kyle, Eric, Jacques, Alexa, Allie and Kieran. We're grateful for Vivian Balsamo's dedicated companionship and Dr. Karen Hiester's heartfelt care given to our Aunt Marcia in her last days.

A memorial service will be held on Feb. 22nd at 10:00 am at Fuller Funeral Home North, with a burial at a later date in Midland, Michigan.
