Marcus Brooks Baker Jr.

GALLION Marcus Brooks Baker, Jr., age 24, of 781 Baker Road died Sunday, February 26, 2006. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Gallion Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors of Demopolis in charge of arrangements.

Brooks was preceded in death by his grandfather, D. J. Baker.

Survivors include his parents Marcus Brooks Baker, Sr. and Rena D. Baker; two sisters, Lauren Baker and Jessica Baker all of Gallion; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie R. "Pete" Davis; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Norma Purvis all of Gallion.

Brooks was a native and lifelong resident of Gallion and a member of Gallion Baptist Church. Brooks was a graduate of Demopolis Academy Class of 1999, where he served as class Salutatorian and a graduate of The University West Alabama, Class of 2005. He was employed with Rock Ten Paper Corporation at the pulp mill.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy May, Kevin May, Brandon Jones, Billy Trotter, Rich Quinney, Jerrod Hasty, Jeffery Hasty and Spencer Ringland.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Rock Ten pulp mill.
