Marcus Rogers Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 5, 2023.
Marcus Joseph Rogers, 16, of New Hartford, CT, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Marcus was the loving son of Marcus and Tina Rogers of New Hartford, and Jennifer (O'Leary) Linskey and Bryce Linskey of Plymouth. Marcus was survived by his paternal grandparents Wilfred and Virginia Rogers. His Mammy and Poppy are right by Marcus's side with him in heaven. His love for all his grandparents was so strong, consisting of daily long conversations and lots of intuitive questions. Marcus is survived by his sisters McKensie and Tori Rogers, and brothers Wyatt, Colt and Gavin Linskey, and many aunts, uncles and cousins who he cared for so deeply.

Marcus was born at New Britain Hospital, lived in Bristol, and attended Plymouth elementary schools, and then attended Antolini School in New Hartford and Northwest Regional Middle School. After graduating, he attended and was a sophomore at Oliver Wolcott Technical High School, where he specialized in electrical. He planned to continue on in college to major in finance, play lacrosse, and take over the family construction business, Pilot Construction, where he worked by his Dad's side every moment he could.

Marcus had an unconditional love for all of his family and friends. He was the best big brother anyone could have asked for. His bright spirit and fun loving manner was felt by all who came into contact with him. The best thing about Marcus was he was laid back, silly, fun loving, warm, curious kid and sometimes just a clown. Marcus's energy was infectious. Marcus was a pleaser and unbelievable hard worker; you never had to ask him more than one time to do anything. His younger siblings looked up to their "Bro' so much. He was and will forever be McKensie's partner in crime and was a hero to his younger siblings, Tori, Colt and Gavin.

Marcus was an incredible young man who loved and was involved in a variety of sports-lacrosse, hockey, motor cross, snowboarding and skateboarding. He loved his friends and teammates like family. He loved vacationing with his family in Maine, New Hampshire, Florida and many more places. He had a strong love for fishing and the outdoors. When he was younger, if not at sports, you would often find him at Poppy's airport hanging out. There are so many people's lives who have been touched by his kind spirit. We will forever hold Marcus dear in our hearts for bringing so many people together! Give Heaven some Hell buddy! Rest in peace our special boy!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Wednesday, February 8th, 10:30 am, at Saint Gregory's Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. His family will receive friends, Tuesday, February 7th, from 4-8 p.m., at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Unionville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Marcus Rogers Foundation, c/o the Thomaston Savings Bank, 203 Main St., Thomaston, CT 06787.
