Suddenly, on March 24, 2013, at age 24. Precious son of Donald M. Lapinski and April (Ellisher) Lapinski; beloved brother of Nicolette Zinski (Kevin) and Natalie Lapinski; dear grandson of Donald and Beth Ellisher, and Donald J. and the late Helen Lapinski; nephew of Jeff and Tammy Hook, Michael Lapinski, and John Lapinski; loving cousin of Brandon Hook and Dustin Hook. Marek was a 2007 graduate of North Allegheny High School where he was a star football and baseball player. He went on to play football at Duquesne University, from where he graduated in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in finance and investment management. Marek was following his dream, working as Director of Corporate Development for Tactical 3rd Dimension in Murrieta, CA. He will be remembered for his commitment to family and friends, passion for his work, and his drive to succeed in making a difference in the lives of others. His kind and generous spirit will live on in everyone who knew him. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the St. Stanislaus Church, 21st and Smallman St. in the Strip District. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made at mareklapinski.org. Arrangements are being personalized by the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., 412-364-4444.

April, D, Nicolette, and Natalie,
Marek was the BEST best friend our son could have ever been blessed with. Our daughters loved when he was around and they all looked up to him. He occupies a very special place in all of our hearts. His easy disposition and positive spirit is forever preserved in our memory. We miss him dearly and we appreciate the fine job you all did in raising such an honorable young man.

Marek will always be one of my favorite students. He was bright and personable and well loved by all who knew him. Marek was a star in my period 6 Academic English II class. I am heartsick for your family and I send my love and sympathy to all of you and the Hook family and all who loved Marek.
