Margaret Louise Blackhurst

Margaret Louise Blackhurst, affectionately known as "Peg" to all her friends and family, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 7, 2024, in Rancho Cordova, CA at the age of 97. Peg dedicated her life to nurturing her family as a loving homemaker.

She was a graduate of Washington High School, where she laid the foundations of a life filled with love for her family and a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, James Blackhurst, for 72 years, and they shared a lifetime of memories until his passing in 2023.

Known for her caring and loving nature, Peg was a central figure in the lives of her four children and their spouses. She was also a cherished grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death not only by her husband, James, but also by her daughter Patricia Bennett, and her younger siblings Vera Porter, Patricia Moffat, and Paul Gray.

Peg's home was often filled with the aromas of her cooking, especially during the holidays when she would bake dozens upon dozens of delicious cookies. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, solving puzzles, and watching baseball, but cherished visits from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren above all else.

A service to honor and celebrate Peg's life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park in San Jose, CA. Her life was a testament to the power of nurturing and love, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
